Friends of the Museum
HOW WE OPERATE:
The Lake Mary Historical Museum is owned by the City of Lake Mary and is partially funded (utilities and general maintenance) by the municipality.
The museum itself is operated by the non-profit Lake Mary Historical Society, whose volunteer members staff the museum and coordinate events and exhibits. The cost of the exhibits and events offered is borne by the Historical Society which is dependent on donations and small fees charged for special events such as the annual Ghost Walk.
The society also coordinates a program which permits students (high school or higher) to volunteer at the museum and earn credits toward their academically required community service.
Admission to the museum is free, as are the exhibits offered throughout the year.
The museum is open Thursdays from 6PM to 8PM and Saturdays from 10AM to 2PM. Other times are available by appointment.
